Hidden Treasures

If you ever take the time to check out similar sites in your
niche you will probably notice that everyone is pretty much
pushing the same sponsors using the same banners and the same
pictures etc. I know if I were a surfer that would bore the
crap out of me. Taking in the account that we pretty much
swap the same traffic around getting a sale almost boils down
to chance.
Surfer goes to site A and sees ebonystarfuckers.com being
promoted and likes it but isn't ready to buy at that moment,
if he sees ebonystarfuckers.com on site B he will just signup
through site B. I remember I tried out a fairly new program
and gave it a mid range push I was getting between 6-9 signups
a day @ $35 a pop for the first month. Once other sites starting
pushing it and the party was over. If you think other Webmasters
don't check out your operation then you better get with it
;-)
If I come across a non-mainstream site that catches my eye
and has something to offer I ask myself if I were a porn surfer
would I hit that JOIN button? If the answer is yes then I'll
give the site a chance. In my most recent test of a non-mainstream
site I was pretty surprised with the results initially I was
getting about 4 signups a day I made a few changes on how
I was promoting it and one day it hit 9 signups, currently
I'm getting between 3-5 signups a day which is additional
money that I was missing out on prior to promoting the site
and its recurring ;-).
I remember when a site that is EVERYWHERE now first came
out I peeped that site before they had their banners ready.
I pushed it lightly and it generated a few steady sign ups,
I stepped things up a little and it had a sweet conversion
ratio. I was clocking between 4 - 9 signups a day every day,
then people started catching on to the site and the signups
slowed down, the sweet thing is that it was a recurring 50/50
program and I'm still making good money from the recurring
sales.
Try not to get caught up in the euphoria of the $30 - $45
per sign ups being offered and not pay attention to the other
less popular sites that offer less per sign up. The logic
is you can have one program that pays $35 per sign up and
maybe get 1-3 a day if your lucky, or you could have a lower
paying program that pays $10 (plus recurring) a day and your
getting steady signups.
Think outside of the box but at the same time remember to
keep up with the trends. Remember nothing tried - Nothing
done.
