It All Depends On What Type Of Photography You're Going To Do. Most of the digital cameras out on the market today have zoom lenses which will cover just about any situation.

You could get a 28-105 zoom lens which would cover your wide angle scenes as well as your close ups. As opposed to getting seperate lens. Most digital cameras today will give you that range. If you decide to go digital get a camera with a minimum of 4 mega pixels.

The benefit of having zoom lenses, verses fixed lenses, is that swapping fixed lenses back and forth is a HUGE pain in the *** when you want to move quickly. A good pose can come and go in an instant, and you want to have your hand on that zoom so you can get it quickly.

The only REAL advantage for fixed lenses is that they are typically "faster" meaning they aperature opens wider than most zoom lenses. If you pay enough money, however, you can find a zoom lens that is just as fast as a typical fixed lens.

One thing I quickly learned though, when I started shooting content, is that it does not matter how fast the lens is. Since you'll be using studio strobes, the light will be virtually unlimited, as opposed to shooting at the largest aperatures with only window light coming into a room.

If you want fixed only then I suggest a 50mm, 80mm and 105mm. If you want a mix then I suggest a fixed 50mm and 105mm and/or 80-200mm zoom.

Just remember the brighter the lens the more it will cost. . .
