do you guys thumbnail your gallery previews in dreamweaver or first with photoshop or the like? its much easier to resize in dreamweaver since I can use the same pic for the thumb and the fullsize pic....but the thumbs look distorted that way:(

Do not use the same pic for the thumb and the fullsize pic - you must resize it to a reasonable size else your gallery page will take an age to load.

Check out a program called 'irfanview', that will do it for you

this is what blueshoe told me on making thumbs.

RedShoe: open an image that you want to make into a thumbnail (for the TGP)

Then get the crop tool and while holding down shift drag a perfect square over the image. Make it kinda tight so that you see just the sex... or the girls face.. or something that would make them click it.

Then crop it. (don't worry about the size, just yet. Only worry that it's a perfect square)

Then resize to 88x88 (if it's a perfect square it'll work perfectly)

Then save for web, compress, and upload.

If you do not yet know how to use the ACTIONS toy in Photoshop, get on it. This will saves you HOURS of sizing and cropping.

You record your motions ONCE and and will repeat your actions on every pic you have as fast as you can click the play button. I can plow through 50 thumbnails in about 1 minute or less.

Arles also will make thumbs (and pages) for you.
